LRLA is committed to supporting the continued professional development of our members. Throughout the year, members have access to discounted Minimum Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) programs covering a variety of relevant legal topics.

Mario G. Olmos Banquet

Since 1980, LRLA has proudly awarded scholarships to deserving law students who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, involvement in the Latino community, financial need, and ties to California’s Central Valley.

Since 1991, these scholarships have been awarded in memory of the Honorable Mario G. Olmos, a respected Fresno County Superior Court Judge and community leader. Judge Olmos exemplified the values of honor, courage, leadership, and public service, and LRLA is proud to continue his legacy by supporting the next generation of legal professionals.

We are excited to announce that the 2026 Mario G. Olmos Scholarship Banquet will be held on November 13th at Pardini’s in Fresno.

Golf Tournament

The La Raza Lawyers Association Golf Tournament will be held on September 12, 2026 at the Madera Private Golf Course. Breakfast burritos and lunch will be provided. Please click below to register and to get more information.

2026 LRLA Golf Tournament Registration Form

Our annual golf tournament is an opportunity for us to get out, have some fun, and raise money for scholarships. In 2007 the Tournament was named the Cajiga/Dominguez Memorial Golf Tournament to honor the memory of two distinguished colleagues, Elvira Dominguez and George Cajiga, who passed away in 2006. In 2004 George was appointed the Public Defender of Fresno County. Elvira worked in the Fresno County Public Defender’s Office representing indigent defendants. In 2013 the name of the Tournament was changed to the Memorial Scholarship Tournament to honor the memory of all former LRLA members who have passed on.

LRLA Family Picnic

Our annual LRLA Family Picnic was held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the Parkview Picnic Shelter at Woodward Park.

The Family Picnic is one of our favorite LRLA traditions, bringing together members and their familias for an afternoon of food, fun, and fellowship. It provides an opportunity to step away from the courtroom and office and strengthen the friendships and community that make LRLA special.

Tailgate

Join LRLA for another great Fresno State Football Tailgate on September 12, 2026!

Our annual tailgate is an opportunity for LRLA members to come together outside of the legal community, enjoy some food and fellowship, and cheer on the Bulldogs.

This event is open to all active LRLA members whose membership dues are current for the year. We look forward to welcoming both longtime and new members.

Holiday Party

Each year, LRLA closes out the year by bringing our members together for our Annual Holiday Party.

The Holiday Party gives us an opportunity to celebrate another successful year, recognize the contributions of our members, thank our outgoing Board of Directors for their service, and welcome the incoming Board that will lead LRLA into the new year.
