The Mario G. Olmos Memorial Scholarship Banquet
The 2013 Mario G. Olmos Memorial Scholarship Banquet was held on Friday March 15, 2013, at the Wedgewood Wedding and Banquet Hall in Fresno, CA 93722
This year we recognized the Hon. Rosendo Peña on his historic appointment as the first Hispanic Justice appointed to the California Court of Appeal, Fifth District, located in Fresno, California. Our Keynote Speaker was David Torres, who this past year was elected to serve on the California State Bar Board of Trustees, District 5, and is the first Hispanic to serve in that capacity.
Our Guest Speaker was Dora Westerlund, CEO and President of the Fresno Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Fresno Area Hispanic Foundation and Downtown Business Hub. Rachel Azevedo, CBS 47 News Reporter, was our Mistress of Ceremonies. Dinner entertainment was provided by the Clovis High Marimba Band, and D.J. Mark Lozada provided the dance music.
